We recently wrapped up the first community playtest for Pinominos our physics-based territory conquest game and the response exceeded expectations. Over 40 players from our Discord community jumped in, fired catapults, fought for land, and told us exactly what they thought.
The headline? The core loop works. Players found the catapult mechanic intuitive and satisfying, and the blend of quick skill-based battles with a persistent world map kept people coming back well beyond a single session.
"I didn't realise how one hour went by."

What players enjoyed
The physics-based gameplay was the runaway favourite. Watching Pinominos collide, chain into explosions, and topple structures delivered exactly the kind of satisfying chaos we were aiming for. The territory conquest layer competing over a shared live map added a strategic dimension that players found genuinely compelling.
"The mix of strategy, territory conquering and catapult mechanics makes the game feel different and interesting."

The faction system and team-based play were also highlighted as standout features the feeling of coordinating with others toward a shared goal added real energy to the experience.
"It's a great take on the Angry Birds style but in 3D launching Pinominos is the best part."

What we're working on
As expected from any beta, testers surfaced a handful of areas we're actively improving before launch. Tutorial depth, map navigation, and aiming clarity are our top priorities we want new players to feel oriented from their very first shot. We're also optimising performance across a broader range of Android devices.
Every piece of feedback has been logged, reviewed, and triaged. The team is heads-down on the release candidate now.
What's next
Pinominos is a unique blend of physics-based gameplay and global strategy. Launch your shots, collapse structures, and expand your control across a dynamic world map every move matters, every shot reshapes the battlefield.
We're targeting a mobile soft launch soon. Follow us on Discord to be first in line when it drops.
"It has a lot of potential and its own unique style that I like."
